Allow us to introduce ourselves: Kontext is a team of two experienced technical translators, Andrea Buselmeier and Petra Schmelzer. We both studied at the Department of Applied Linguistics in Germersheim, University of Mainz, qualifying with the degree of Diplom-Übersetzerin (equivalent to an M.A.), Andrea in English and Italian, Petra in English and Spanish with emphasis on technology. We have been living in England for several years now, initially working as in-house translators for Xerox (formerly Rank Xerox) in Welwyn Garden City. In 1996 we founded Kontext as an independent partnership. We are both members of the UK's professional body for Translators and Interpreters, the ITI.As expert technical translators we specialise in information technology and in particular in digital printing and reprographic technology.
